I have perfect taste recall for Tab Clear. It didn't really taste like cola, it had an indescribable flavour which I can only approximate in words to being kind of like a mixture of Indian tonic water, heavily diluted Diet Coke, a hint of sour lemon, and a weird overbearing chemical taste which was in the ballpark of dandelion and burdock (If that's a known thing outside of the UK.). Tab Clear was a very watery flavour, very weak, but the nasty taste of it made it seem stronger at times. I drank quite a lot of it, because Coca Cola were promoting it in the UK by giving free cans out at every event imaginable. It was horrible, but a free drink is a free drink. So if a decades old can of it tastes bad now, I'd suggest that it may well have maintained its exact flavour as when it was produced.
